Moving the World for 100 Years
We are proud of our past, but looking forward to our future.
Few companies are fortunate enough to experience a “Centennial Celebration.” In 2012, we commemorated the rich heritage of Cleveland Gear – 100 years with the same name and location: Cleveland, Ohio. Our facility has 150,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space. It’s been our home since 1928. In 1980, we became part of Industrial Manufacturing Company (IMC), a group of companies that are time-tested leaders in their national and global markets
Cleveland Gear’s heritage and leadership are longstanding. We were the first company in the U.S. to manufacture worm gearing for mass production. Over the years, we introduced the first:
• Standard industrial line of worm gear speed reducers
• Worm gear speed reducers to handle over-hung loads
• Box-type housing to increase heat dissipation during operation
• One-piece housing, allowing smaller worm gear units
While we celebrate our past, we look to the future. Our leadership and longevity in the worm gear industry gives us a strong foundation to enhance our industry leadership role. Cleveland Gear continues to design and produce open gearing, enclosed drives, speed reducers, and custom gearing to solve our customers’ critical power transmission problems.
Cleveland Gear has earned its reputation as first in gears, first in excellence.
